Step By Step Process to Install a Shopify App on a Store
Before we delve into the Shopify app installation process, note that all applications that you find on the Shopify App store are all verified and conform to Shopify development rules and guidelines. You can simply be assured that these applications will never have plug and play issues on your store and you can simply focus on the features instead of the architecture.
Here we go with the installation process –
Go to Shopify portal i.e. www.shopify.com . Click on ‘Login’ button on the top right corner. Provide your login credentials and sign in to the backend of your Shopify store. If you are new to Shopify store and click on ‘Get Started’ button and register create a store on Shopify.
Click on ‘Apps’ in your store dashboard.
You will be navigated to another page on your dashboard, from where you can view details of all the installed apps for your store.
Click on ‘Visit Shopify App Store’
Upon clicking ‘Visit Shopify App Store’ in the previous step, you will be navigated to Shopify’s App Store.
This page displays down all the apps that are listed with Shopify. There are primarily 4 filters that you can use to narrow down on what you seek on Shopify App store. Filter based on either Category or Price or Popularity or Collections or any combination.
You can also have a search section from where you can look for your favorite apps, provided you know their names. Search bar is on the top right corner of the page.
Once you have filter out the list, select from the list the app you feel is ideal for you and one that you would like to know more about. In the below example, I have selected Oberlo, an app that helps stores to source products from across the world.
Click on the app that you seek to install.
On clicking, you will be navigated to App details page. You can find all information regarding the app here. To get close to installation, click on ‘Get’ button.
For paid apps, you will be navigated to a separate payment page and post successful payment you will be navigated to installation page automatically.
Upon click ‘Get’ button, you are navigated to the final installation page. Find ‘Install App’ in the left corner of your screen and click on install.
Upon clicking, within couple of seconds/minutes the app will be installed on your store.
To start using the App, Click on ‘Apps’ (refer step 3). All your installed apps are listed in the center section. Find the one that you have recently installed, click on it and start using it. Read ‘View Details’ before using them.
How to Uninstall a Shopify App from a store?
It is probably the easiest thing you can ever do. From the previous section on installation, simply navigate to your app store by logging on to Shopify (step 1), Click on ‘Apps’ (step 2), Find the App that you want to uninstall (step 3), Click on delete icon provided against the app.
